O.C.S.C’s Archery Club has something for everyone, and for everyone of all ages. Our club boasts one of the largest un-obstructed indoor archery range houses in Michigan. As well as extensive outdoor ranges for 3D, Field and Hunter, FITA Targets, and Broadhead Leagues.

Spring is here! The Workbee crew is working hard to have the outdoor range open for leagues in May. The Woods course was cleared and set up with 20-3D targets for the first outdoor shoot of the year. We had a beautiful day to set up the course, but rain moved in at the beginning of the shoot. The rain cleared by 10:30 am allowing archers to shoot the course.
The rest of the archery trails have many downed trees. Come out on Tuesdays at 9 am and Thursdays at 6 pm through April to help us clear the trails. In May, workbees will move to 9 am on Wednesdays.
JOAD just held their banquet to award youth archers pins for achieving milestones in their shooting scores. JOAD now moves outside to the FITA field for the summer season. Improvements were made moving the shooting line to 70 meters creating more space for spectators. Their first shoot of the summer is the SAM tournament held here in June at OCSC on the racetrack.
The Archery Banquet was just held where we recognize the Archer of the Year, all the league champions as well as those individuals who participated in the Tri-County and Michigan Archers Association tournaments. We will let you know next month who Archer of the Year is as this article was due before the banquet.

This is my last article as Archery President. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the club grow. We have expanded our youth programs, especially JOAD with a strong coaching team and many new youth archers along with a new adult JOAD program. We have gained interest from newer members stepping up to be on the Archery Board to continue our legacy of being a top tier archery club in the region. This was made possible by all of our volunteers, too many to list here, that makes our club the best.
We still have a lot of work ahead of us. Inventing creative shoots to challenge our archery community. Enticing Senior Olympics to use our facilities for their competition along with the many archery associations we try to schedule a shoot. Recruiting younger adults to be members. One of our biggest challenges is paving the parking lot for safer winter access and better ADA access. This has been a tough sell to the executive board. I believe we can achieve all these things and more if we put our minds to it.
In closing, I am proud to serve as your president for the last few years.

We are proud to be a family oriented club that truly has something for everyone of all ages and abilities.
We have a beautiful clubhouse with a large indoor range as well as acres of outdoor ranges located on beautiful rolling, wooded, and open field terrain.
We have a great variety of leagues ongoing year round. We also host a variety of events, 3D shoot both indoors and outdoors and tournaments. Remember you do not need to be a member to shoot in any of the leagues or other events. You are always welcome to shoot as a guest.
As a member you have access to the indoor range 24 / 7 and the outdoor ranges during daylight hours. Just remember to check first for any range closings and to sign in to use the ranges.
If you have a special event you would like to schedule, such as corporate team building day, scout instructional or fun shoot, see one of the archery club representatives to arrange. We can even provide equipment and instruction.
Archery Club meetings are held the third Wednesday of the month. All club members are welcome to attend and get involved.

Come out and shoot as a guest of our leagues on any scheduled league day! Just check-in with our league secretary and pay the league fee and enjoy the challenge.
